At KiDiHOU, children learn and play with others who may not look like the children they see in their schools or neighbourhoods. It provides an opportunity to connect across racial, ethnic, and socio-economic lines. It is an exciting learning venue. Parents and caregivers know children will be appropriately engaged and challenged, and children know they will have fun! Children learn to love museums.

We’re talking REAL tools, REAL materials and the freedom to innovate and explore making and tinkering beyond tablets and smartphone screens in a new collaborative workshop space.

At its core, design thinking is the means by which we generate creative ideas and make positive change happen in the world. Given the great challenges we have in the world today, design thinking is one of the many ways we can prepare our kids to positively shape our future… while they develop confidence in their creative abilities. Tom and David Kelley define creative confidence as the “natural human ability to come up with breakthrough ideas and the courage to act on them.” Everyone was creative at some point in their lives (think kindergarten), so the challenge is more about unlocking creative potential than generating it from scratch.

Creating an environment where this is encouraged lays a great foundation for the rest of their lives. Play is how young children learn. Early in a child’s development, the process of using the imagination, learning new things, and practising skills is more important than the end product. Meaningful learning is best facilitated in an environment that is free of criticism and comparisons, where there is freedom to make choices, to take risks, to explore within clear boundaries, and where respect and basic values are encouraged.
• Любимые книги: A platform that aims to be a mini TED like platform not just for listening or talking but Inviting all Makers who are already making a change or looking to bring change in Hyderabad and beyond. I believe that making anything brings out the creator in us and boosts our confidence. In short we feel good about ourselves and discover the creative powers that lie inside us. It can be making anything - from making biryani, to a short video, writing code to fixing a car. Do you remember the feeling and joy that you got after making/doing/creating anything. I wanted to create a place where we could all come together and share our stories and inspire many others. Mini TED without the big platform, but a bit more than just talking or listening. What if by giving 2 days a year you could make a change. Would you want to join? I believe YES! too. I am joining hands with a few other Makers and we are starting this group to bring together other makers4change and to bring a change in ourselves, our family, our community, our country, and the world we live in.
